Suicidal thoughts are defined simply as the act of killing oneself intentionally. Suicide might be used as well in describing a person who killed himself. This is typically deemed as a taboo and people are feeling uncomfortable discussing about it. This stigma is preventable among individuals if only they would share their experience for suicidal thoughts. All it needs from a person is to be open.
When an Act is Considered as Suicide?
Having thoughts of ending one’s life or killing yourself is an indication for suicidal ideation. There are people who are planning out suicidal attempts whereas others become impulsive in the moment. There are also specific terms that are used in describing certain categories or types of suicides. Majority of the suicides do involve one person. On rare cases, group of people like members of extreme cult or religious sect committing suicide altogether which is deemed as mass suicide.
On the other hand, an agreement between 2 or more individuals in committing suicide is considered as a suicide pact.
Different Meaning of Suicide
Despite the fact that these are uncommon, they usually involve husbands and wives or other individuals. By cops, they describe suicide as a situation in which someone has committed a crime or has been threatened by someone in an effort to force police to kill themselves.
